Before semi automatics became vogue, paintball sites used pump action paintball guns.
Yes these took a little bit more skill to operate but it came with advantages too.
1. You used less paintballs
2. You used less gas
3. Every time you pumped the gun you got a full charge so no drop in speed or power
4. If you could shoot good with a pump then you would shoot even better with a semi automatic – why ? Because to learn to adapt, compensate and progress your skill
a) Pumping the gun can disturb your aim and shooting position
b) You lose your target sight picture because when you pump the gun the gun moves so you have to reacquire your target before shooting
c) More movement between shots – a semi automatic uses the energy from firing to load the next round which allows you to keep the gun steadier and remain on target easier.
All the aforementioned help to hone your shooting and handling.
When a task requires more skill this increases the sense of achievement and gives you a bigger buzz
All our pump action guns use .68 caliber paintballs so it is high impact paintball. They can be fitted with a 200 shot or 50 shot mag.
